About my husbands vasectomy?

My doctor told us this week that just because he was fixed,does not mean i couldn't still get pregnant! So far he is the 3rd doctor who told me,my husband could still get me pregnant even though he had one-said they see it all the time! Is this true and why the hell didn't the doctor who fixed my man tell us this!
